Engineering (sophomore) "Robotics has taught me to take responsibility of being part of a team and taking up my part of the task to be accomplished. While schoolwork focuses on one's individual success, robotics is all about working together to accomplish the required task."

EngineeringProduction (freshman) "I enjoy being a participant of the CougarBots because I get to build and design robots. It has helped me decide what I want to be when I get out of college (an architect). I learned that there is a lot more to building a robot then just putting parts together with nuts and bolts; additionally, there is a lot of math involved in it."

In the past, I've been primarily on the engineering team, but this year, I've worked as the head of marketing. So overall I have learned about the engineering process and the marketing strategies. The BEST Competitions are always good experiences, and I've learned a lot from them."

Engineering (freshman) "Robotics has helped me in unimaginable ways, like learning new things and opening my mind up to take things like the following: math and programming, building ,and etc. I have enjoyed robotics a lot, not only is it fun, but robotics has helped me learn things and decide to pursue a career in engineering. My robotics team and BEST are great fun, and I will definitely participate again."

Engineering (freshman) "This is my first year of robotics, and I have enjoyed learning about different strategies of how to coincide with things, like the motor parts. It's very interesting to learn how to build parts and make a bot to beat the other robots in the BEST competition. I've also learned many strategies on the best way to work with what you've got to within regulation."

Engineering Design (sophomore) "When one thinks of robotics they think of just building and math, however this is not what BEST does. By joining the CougarBots in BEST, I have learned how to do things I would never had learned before including complex math, social skills, marketing, and design strategies. I have enjoyed the unique experiences (where else do you get to build a space elevator?!) in building and design. Working with the CougarBots and participating in BEST has been very fun and is something I would and do greatly recommend."

Multimedia Specialist (freshman) "Robotics has been a good experience for me because it has given me the opportunity to meet new people and has expanded my mind to different aspects of math, science, and marketing that school systems don't normally teach. It also teaches organization, how to present a well-written presentation, and other skills that are vital to know in the real world."

Engineering (6th grade) "I am very glad that I have decided to participate in Mississippi BEST Robotics. I have had very much fun and have learned very much. The reason why I decided to participate is because I have always been interested in robots. While we were working on the robot, I discovered many things that I would have never known. Overall, this has been a great experience and I will definitely participate next year."
